Scranton officials say it was a ransomware cyber-attack that affected the city's non-emergency computer systems this past weekend. In a press release, they say an investigation by third-party specialists made the determination and they are trying to assess whether sensitive information was accessed. If they find that the security of residents or staff are affected they will notify the public. There will be more updates as information is available.
