A fire at an apartment building in Carbondale displaced 10 people. According to reports, fire crews were called to the unit block of River Street just before 5:00 p.m. for a reported structure fire. Carbondale’s fire chief said that a piece of sheet metal falling from from a roof latched onto a high-tension pole wire, energizing the whole building as if it were struck by lightning. No one was hurt, and the building was condemned until electrical work is done on the building.
