Emergency calls were received around 2:00 p.m., prompting a massive response that escalated to a third alarm as the fire intensified. The roof of the structure, which was reported as vacant, collapsed during the incident.
The fire caused significant disruption to the surrounding area, resulting in the temporary closure of several nearby streets. Additionally, power was cut to the neighborhood for a period of time, though utility crews have since restored service. Firefighters remained on the scene to wet down the ruins and ensure all hot spots were extinguished. Authorities have investigated the incident and ruled the cause of the fire to be accidental.
