In Luzerne County Court yesterday, a three judge panel held a hearing on a ballot question which Luzerne County Council authorized in June. After the hearing, the panel did not issue a ruling saying they could not until the Luzerne County Election board voted on the question. Now the county election board has scheduled a vote for tomorrow at 6pm at the Luzerne County Courthouse. The question would ask voters in the upcoming General Election on November 7 if they want to change the county charter as to the way the election board is constituted and the method by which board members and chairperson are appointed. The election board did not certify it saying the referendum is too broad and should be 8 separate questions. The deadline to finalize the November 7 election ballot is September 11.
