The Archbald Borough Council underwent a dramatic leadership shakeup as three top officials were voted out of their positions following intense public scrutiny over proposed data center developments. Council President Dave Moran, Vice President Richard Guman, and President Pro-Tempore Marie Andreoli were removed from their leadership roles after months of community pressure calling for a restructured local government. The motion for the vote was initiated by council member Erin Owens, who has now assumed the role of president pro tempore, with several other members backing her stance that the previous leadership was too lenient toward data center developers.
This internal upheaval reflects a deep rift between the borough’s governing body and residents who have consistently voiced concerns regarding the industrial projects. The transition in power occurs just as the borough prepares for a critical conditional use hearing for a data center proposal, scheduled for Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Valley View High Schoo
