SCRANTON, PA — A local attorney was committed to the Lackawanna County Prison on Wednesday morning after a county judge revoked his bail for allegedly violating court-ordered pretrial release conditions.
Lackawanna County Judge Michael Barrasse ordered 50-year-old Michael Pisanchyn, of Olyphant, held without bail after he allegedly visited a Jessup tavern on Sunday. Under the terms of his active pretrial supervision, Pisanchyn was explicitly prohibited from entering bars, taverns, or any establishments that serve alcohol.
The supervision conditions stem from criminal charges filed following a February 2025 incident in Dunmore and Throop, where Pisanchyn was charged with DUI, simple assault, and related offenses. Prosecutors allege that Pisanchyn instigated an altercation at Porkiez Bar & Grill after declaring "I'm gonna fight" and assaulting another patron, before driving away intoxicated and being apprehended by police parked in the middle of a nearby roadway.
Following Wednesday's hearing, Pisanchyn was remanded into custody at the Lackawanna County Prison pending further judicial proceedings in his criminal case.
