The Pa. Department of Environmental Protection gave the Alliance Landfill in Taylor the go ahead to begin hauling in a long-banned chemical.  The DEP approved a major permit modification for the roughly 770-acre landfill in Taylor, Ransom Twp. and Old Forge, allowing Alliance to dispose of polychlorinated biphenyl, or PCB, waste. Alliance applied for the permit modification back in March.  The Alliance and Grand Central landfill in Northampton County are the only landfills under the DEP’s Northeast Regional Office to accept PCB waste.
