Fans planning to attend Barry Manilow’s "The Last Wilkes-Barre Concert" will have to wait a bit longer to see the music icon. Arena officials announced on Thursday that the performance, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 16, at the Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza, has been postponed due to health concerns. According to a statement released by the tour, the decision was made under doctor’s orders, forcing the rescheduling of several upcoming arena dates across the Northeast.
The announcement comes as a surprise to many, especially following a Luzerne County Convention Center Authority meeting on Wednesday where it was reported that the show would proceed as planned. While specific details regarding Manilow’s current condition were not fully disclosed in the arena's statement, the 82-year-old singer has been public about his recovery following surgery for stage-one lung cancer earlier this year. Officials assured ticket holders that all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date, which has yet to be determined. Fans are encouraged to hold onto their tickets and monitor official channels for further updates
