JESSUP, PA — Authorities in Lackawanna County are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of a father and daughter inside a home in Jessup on Monday.
Officers were dispatched to a residence along Lane Street to conduct a welfare check when they discovered the bodies of 68-year-old Anthony Bruno and his 32-year-old daughter, Samantha Bruno. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not yet disclosed the circumstances leading up to the shooting or whether police are actively searching for a suspect.
The Lackawanna County Coroner's Office is expected to perform autopsies later this week to determine the official cause and manner of death for both individuals.
State and local police continue to investigate the scene. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact law enforcement.
