
For the 4th time this year, the West Nile virus has been detected in Lackawanna County. Officials say the sample that tested positive for the virus was collected at the intersection of Palm Street and Crown Avenue in South Scranton. So far, no human cases have been reported in Lackawanna County. Residents in the area are advised to Eliminate standing water around their homes, make sure that water in bird baths should be changed on a weekly basis, and pools should be kept clean and chlorinated.
