Authorities have identified the 39-year-old man who died following a Friday night shooting in West Scranton.
Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland identified the victim as Clinton Thornton-Hill, who was found unconscious on the 300 block of North Hyde Park Avenue. Thornton-Hill was transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner determined that Thornton-Hill died as the result of a single gunshot wound to his abdomen and ruled the manner of death a homicide. Local law enforcement and the coroner's office are continuing their active investigation into the fatal shooting.
