SCRANTON, PA – The Lackawanna County Bureau of Elections released a statement Wednesday confirming they are investigating a report of potential ballot tampering that occurred at a polling location in the City of Scranton during Tuesday’s election.

The alleged incident took place at the Jackson Heights polling place in West Scranton.

According to reports, the Bureau became aware of the situation after a Facebook user posted a claim on Tuesday stating they were handed a ballot that already had a name written in the write-in space for Judge of Elections. The post included a photograph of the ballot the voter claims to have received.

After conducting a preliminary review of the evidence and the claim, the Lackawanna County Board of Elections has officially referred the matter to the District Attorney’s office for a full criminal investigation.
