Sunday was a busy day for firefighters in our area. One woman died in an early morning fire in Swoyersville. That fire started Sunday morning at a home on Mountain Street. A State Police fire marshal is investigating the cause of that fire in Luzerne County. And fire damaged 2 homes in Lackawanna County. Several departments were called out to a home on Keystone Avenue in Blakely just before noon on Sunday. No one was hurt, and 2 women were displaced after a fire started in the basement of their home along Stonecrest Drive in Moosic just before 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The Red Cross is assisting those women.
