A developer tied to data center proposals in Lackawanna County’s Mid Valley area has purchased a large junkyard property in Blakely for nearly $1.6 million.

According to property records, PDC Realty LLC acquired the Highway Auto Parts salvage yard on Eynon Jermyn Road for $1,575,000. The purchase includes about 83.5 acres across 17 parcels, with the transaction recorded Friday.

The company has applied with the borough to construct three data centers on the site.

Blakely borough officials will host a question-and-answer session with the developers tonight at 7 p.m. at the Borough Building, 1439 Main Street, to address public concerns and provide more details about the project.
