A Brooklyn man has been identified as the victim of a fatal collision on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension in Luzerne County. State police say 25-year-old Yosef Loriner died Tuesday evening following a crash on Interstate 476 in Jenkins Township.

The incident occurred near the Wyoming Valley exit as Loriner was traveling northbound. According to investigators, Loriner was driving at a high rate of speed when his vehicle veered off the main travel lanes and struck a tractor-trailer. The truck had been temporarily parked on the shoulder of the roadway.

The impact caused Loriner's vehicle to ignite, and it was quickly engulfed in flames. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the car heavily damaged by the fire. Authorities confirmed that Loriner was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the exact circumstances of the crash remains ongoing by the state police.
