A fire caused by an electrical issue in a ceiling fan damaged a vacant home in Conyngham Township over the weekend. No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred on Main Street.
Fire crews were called to the scene around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday. According to Macanaqua’s Fire Chief, the fire began in a ceiling fan on the second floor, causing parts of the ceiling to collapse into two bedrooms. The second floor sustained extensive fire damage, while the first floor had some water damage from the firefighting efforts.
Authorities stated that the homeowner was in the process of renovating the property to prepare it for sale.
