PALMYRA TWP., PA — Fire crews from Wayne and Pike counties responded to a two-alarm blaze early Thursday morning that completely destroyed a commercial building along Route 507.
According to emergency dispatchers, the fire broke out around 3:00 a.m. at the Joseph J. O'Brien Realtor building, located along the Route 507 commercial corridor in Palmyra Township.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke engulfing the structure. Due to the intensity of the flames, response teams called for a second alarm, bringing multiple volunteer fire companies from surrounding communities in Wayne and Pike counties to assist with water supply and suppression efforts.
Despite firefighters' efforts to control the blaze, the building sustained extensive damage and is considered a total loss.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the fire. Emergency responders and fire marshals remain on the scene to extinguish lingering hotspots and conduct an investigation into the cause and origin of the blaze.
