SCRANTON, PA – A former travel agent, Eileen Miner, pleaded guilty to 35 felony theft charges and four misdemeanors after defrauding dozens of clients across four Northeast Pennsylvania counties. The Lackawanna County District Attorney's office announced the plea, stating that Miner stole tens of thousands of dollars from her clients while working at Thompson Tours.

According to prosecutors, Miner’s scheme involved taking money from clients for trips that were never booked. The victims, many of whom were planning vacations, business travel, or family reunions, lost significant amounts of money. The DA’s office confirmed that the fraud impacted residents in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wyoming, and Susquehanna counties.

The Lackawanna County DA emphasized the seriousness of the crimes, noting the breach of trust involved in the large-scale theft. Miner now faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in state prison. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled, but it is expected to be set in Lackawanna County Court in the coming weeks.
