A German national is behind bars in Luzerne County after authorities tracked a missing teenage girl to a local hotel room over the weekend. Police arrested 21-year-old Fabian Machon, of Hannover, Germany, on Sunday morning after investigators used cellular data to locate the missing teen at a hotel in Dupont. According to the criminal complaint filed by the Dupont Police Department, officers pinged the girl's phone to pinpoint her location and discovered both her and Machon inside the room.
During questioning by investigators, Machon admitted that he traveled to the United States specifically to meet the teenager after connecting with her online, and confessed that the two had engaged in sexual intercourse. Machon has been officially charged with felony corruption of minors. Following his arraignment, he was remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility without bail after being deemed a danger to society and a significant flight risk, and a preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 2.
