Guilty plea for driver in deadly Luzerne County shooting

A guilty plea by a driver involved in a deadly Hazle Township shooting.  According to a published report, 19 year old Ismael Valdez Batista of Mahanoy City was accused of driving two men to the scene of a fatal shooting outside an auto-repair garage in April of last year where they fired shots striking two males, one of which, 18 year old Rolando Cepeda died. And, for the first time publicly, prosecutors said the deadly shooting was gang related. Batista pled guilty to criminal attempt to commit criminal homicide. Judge David W. Lupas accepted the plea agreement that calls for Batista to serve a sentence of 12 to 24 years in state prison.
