A loaded handgun was kept off a flight at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International airport on Monday. TSA officers said the gun was detected by an X-ray unit at a security checkpoint. The gun was removed by Avoca Police who allowed the Lycoming County man to return the firearm to his vehicle. He now faces a “stiff financial civil penalty” according to TSA officials but will not face criminal charges because he did have a concealed carry permit.
