Another meeting tonight will focus on the Luzerne County Budget. This time it's the District Attorney's office and will include a presentation by Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sangueldoce. The budget for 2023 must be adopted by December 13th. The meeting will be held at the Luzerne County Courthouse. Those who would like to attend remotely can find instructions at luzernecounty.org. Administrative and operational services budgets will be heard next Tuesday.
Luzerne County Council will have several other items to talk about at their meeting tonight. They will include an allocation of American Rescue Plan funding and forming a three member citizen search committee to find candidates for the position of Luzerne County Manager. There have been suggestions made to council that a portion of the ARP funding could be given to the Commission on Economic Opportunity who in turn would then direct it to help struggling residents in the county.
