Jury selection is set to begin today in Luzerne County Court in the murder trial of a man from Freeland. 50 year old Roberto Torner is on trial in connection with the death of 60 year old Jose Herran. According to prosecutors, Torner allegedly conspired with 54 year old David Alzugaray to kill Herran in 2015. The two men allegedly shot Herran, dismembered and burned the body on North Buck Mountain Road in Foster Township in 2015 then threw the remains in the Lehigh River. Alzugaray's trial is scheduled for July.
