More discussion on traffic concerns surrounding a bridge connecting Pittston and West Pittston that will remain closed will be on the agenda at the Luzerne County Council meeting Tuesday evening. The Firefighter's Memorial Bridge also known as the Water Street Bridge was closed in 2021 after inspections showed a bent eyebar on the span. Recently county officials proposed a request to PennDOT to allow the span to be reopened but it was denied. Discussion will now include a proposed traffic study and possible other measures that could be taken to alleviate traffic congestion in the area.
