Luzerne County will have only 2 ballot drop boxes this election

It looks like Luzerne County will have 2 mail drop boxes for the November general election, instead of 4. According to reports, the two boxes hosted by outside entities cannot be deployed because they cannot be anchored to the floor or a wall. The 2 boxes have been set up at county owned properties, the Penn Place Building in Wilkes-Barre, and the Broad Street Exchange in Hazleton. During more than hour of public comment at last night's county council meeting. 23 citizens spoke or submitted email comments about drop boxes, with 14 supporting them and 9 calling for their elimination.
