A Luzerne County man will serve prison time for the shooting death of his brother last summer.
John James Kilpatrick, 35, has been sentenced to three and a half to seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of his brother, 30-year-old Kevin Kilpatrick.
The incident occurred in August 2023. According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were called to a residence on Chase Road in Jackson Township for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found Kevin Kilpatrick dead inside the home.
Authorities have not publicly commented on what led up to the shooting.
