Man in custody following Luzerne County police chase

A man is in custody after allegedly leading police on a chase throughout two counties Monday morning. It began in Luzerne County, where state police say officers with the Butler Township Police Department tried to stop a stolen vehicle, but the driver fled the area and eventually got out of the car and fired shots at officers. Investigators say the man then broke into a nearby home and stole another car before leading police on a second chase into Schuylkill County. Troopers say that's where the suspect crashed the vehicle and was taken into custody.
