Manner of death determined in body found in Hazleton

The death of a person found near the Hazleton Area High School last month is now being investigated as a suicide, not a homicide. On July 24, authorities said possible human remains were discovered in a wooded area off of Hazle Township Boulevard. The cause of death was originally ruled a homicide due to blunt force trauma. A release from Pennsylvania State Police, through further investigation made by troopers, forensic anthropologists and the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office, the incident is now being investigated as a suicide.
