Emergency crews responded Sunday morning around 7am to Main Street in Luzerne Borough for a report of a mine subsidence. The subsidence is by Toby Creek of state Route 309. According to State Police, Main Street between Luzerne Lumber and Courtdale Ave wass closed to all traffic, this included the on and off ramps for Route 309, but the on and off ramps reopened to traffic on Sunday evening. Residents near the subsidence area were asked to leave their homes, but were allowed to return by last night.
