DICKSON CITY, PA — Officers with the Dickson City Police Department continue to navigate working conditions affected by a recurring mold issue inside the borough municipal building, prompting concerns over workplace health and facility maintenance.
Department officials reported that the latest flare-up began toward the end of August within police departmental spaces at the 901 Enterprise Street facility. While remediation efforts have brought visible growth under control, officers and staff report ongoing impacts from lingering environmental and air quality issues within the building.
Dickson City Police Chief William Bilinski stated that the problem is not isolated, noting that mold outbreaks have periodically returned to the building over multiple years. Bilinski expressed frustration with the issue's recurrence, emphasizing concerns regarding the health, safety, and operational well-being of the department's personnel.
Borough officials are awaiting a comprehensive engineer's evaluation and structural report to identify the root moisture cause and outline permanent remediation plans before determining the municipality's next steps.
