Murder charges filed in Luzerne County hit and run

A man has died after being hit by a vehicle In Luzerne County. Police responded to Lou's Auto Repair on North Main Street in Plains around 11:20 p.m. on Friday. The coroner says 47-year-old Mark Svadeba was hit and killed by a vehicle and his death has been ruled a homicide. Police say the suspect, Louis Weibrecht, is already in custody on unrelated charges. Plains Township and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s office are still investigating the deadly hit and run. They say Weibrecht intentionally hit the victim and then backed over him before fleeing the scene. It's reported there is surveillance video that shows the crime.
