Ski season is officially underway in Northeastern Pennsylvania, with several major resorts opening their slopes this week, while others are set to follow soon. Camelback Resort near Tannersville has already opened as of Wednesday, with officials planning to open more trails, including Cliffhanger, this weekend. Both Jack Frost Big Boulder near White Haven and Blue Mountain near Palmerton are scheduled to open their runs this Friday.
Meanwhile, Shawnee Mountain will welcome skiers starting next week on Friday, December 12. Elk Mountain Ski Resort is expected to announce its official opening date next week, with projected dates currently targeting the middle of December. Montage Mountain and Ski Big Bear have also been preparing for the season, with some sources projecting opening dates around the second week of December.
