More than 800 Geisinger registered nurses reached a contract settlement on Saturday. After months of back and forth and a five-day strike in February, Geisinger’s SEIU-registered nurses are celebrating a major contract victory. According to reports, the new contract affects nurses across three Geisinger campuses and includes raises of up to 26% over the next three years, enhanced on-call protections, and new workplace safety measures—including paid participation in a new Workplace Violence Committee and security training. The contract covers nurses at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, and Geisinger Healthplex CenterPoint in Pittston.
