An error that impacted voters in 14 wards in the city of Wilkes Barre was announced over the weekend. The error in the race for Wilkes Barre City Council in wards 2 through 8 and 14 through 20 was caused by a data mismatch. Those ballots were canceled and corrected ballots will arrive soon according to an email sent to affected voters. More information is expected to be announced later today.
The general election is coming up November 7th. The last day to register to vote is one week from today, October 23. More voting information including deadlines and checking your voter registration can be found at vote.pa.gov.
The Luzerne County Election Board will have two open seats available at the beginning of the year. One Democrat and one Republican. Right now there are no Democrats on the eligibility list for possible appointment. If you are interested, applications are available on luzernecounty.org.
