PLAINS TOWNSHIP — A three-vehicle crash in Plains Township on Monday afternoon claimed the life of a woman, authorities confirmed.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Ridgewood Road and Route 315 just after 3 p.m. According to Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes, the woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was the driver of a Jeep involved in the collision. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Pennsylvania State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene to assist in the investigation. The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation by authorities.
