A Pike County man has been sentenced to state prison following a conviction on multiple child sex offenses. According to prosecutors, 73-year-old Juan Alvarado, of Blooming Grove Township, was ordered to serve a sentence of 4 years and 8 months to 23 years behind bars.
The sentencing comes after Alvarado entered a guilty plea to a slate of felony charges, including possession of child sexual abuse material, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, and indecent assault. Following the hearing, Alvarado was remanded to the custody of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to begin serving his prison term.
