Power is slowly returning to PPL customers in parts of Wilkes Barre city, the Heights section and Wilkes Barre Township. Crews were called to an area of Sheetz on Route 309 in Wilkes Barre Township. There are reports of a fire at a PPL substation in that area. That has not been confirmed by PPL officials. Some PPL customers in the south side section of Scranton are also without power after a tractor trailer took down power poles in the 1800 block of Cedar Ave earlier this morning. Crews are working in that area as well to get the power back on.
