Pennsylvania lawmakers will see a big salary increase in 2025. The entire State House and Senate, along with Governor Shapiro, judges, and top-level executive branch officials, will get a 3.4 percent pay raise, more than the 2.5 percent hike social security recipients will get. First responders, including local and state police, along with firefighters and EMS professionals, will be eligible for Workers' Compensation if they develop Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. That rule goes into effect at the end of October. The Commonwealth's Safe Haven Law is being expanded. Urgent Care centers will now be added to the list of places where a newborn baby can be surrendered without legal penalty.
