Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Scranton man who died following a shooting in West Scranton on Friday night.
According to Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland, emergency medical personnel discovered the victim unconscious in the 300 block of North Hyde Park Avenue and transported him to Geisinger Community Medical Center. The man was pronounced dead in the hospital emergency department at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials have not yet released the victim's identity as they work to notify family members. Local law enforcement and the county coroner's office are continuing their investigation into the fatal incident.
