Scranton mayor releases 2025 budget with no tax increase

Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti released her 2025 budget for the city, which included investments into the Electric City’s safety, health care and beautification, and no tax increase or garbage fee increase for city residents.  Cognetti's budget proposal adds five new provisional police officers and 1.5 million dollars toward new equipment and technology for police. The next Scranton city council meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 12th.
