It’s been 30 years since the skeletal remains of a woman were found in Sugarloaf Township, today police say she’s been identified. Margaret Wininger went missing in the early 1990’s near Philadelphia. She was a 1966 graduate of West Hazleton High School. Her remains were found off Tomhicken Road during a mining reclamation project in 1994. Wininger was identified through DNA of a relative. Police ask anyone who had contact or knowledge of her back in the Luzerne County area in the early 1990’s to contact them. It may help in the investigation of what happened to her.
