
Snow is continuing to fall throughout Northeast Pa, with snow totals ranging from an inch or so in the Northern Tier to up to 8 inches in the Mountaintop Area. PENNDOT and the Pa Turnpike Commission have reduced speed limits to 45 mph. Commercial vehicles are restricted to the right lane on Interstates 81, 80 and 380. In anticipation of winter weather and snowfall, Scranton City Hall and Weston Field will be closed today. The City of Scranton will be issuing a parking ban for the downtown area beginning at midnight on Tuesday and will remain throughout the day, to allow the Department of Public Works to plow the streets quickly and completely.
There will be a parking ban in effect on Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston, Exeter & Wyoming boroughs from 11:00 PM tonight until 6:00 PM Tuesday evening. The Parking Ban will be strictly enforced by the Wyoming Area Regional Police department. Failure to abide to this ban may result in your vehicle being ticketed and/or towed at the owners expense. Residents are asking to utilize drive ways when possible so that the DPW employees can properly remove snow from the roadways. Residents are also reminded that shoveling or blowing snow into the road way is strictly prohibited.
