The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for the person or persons responsible for a recent residential burglary in Thornhurst Township that resulted in the theft of multiple firearms. According to investigators from the Dunmore barracks, the incident occurred at a home on Melvin Road between March 1 and March 19. The thieves made off with five firearms in total, including three rifles—identified as two Ruger models and a Mossberg—along with a Glock semi-automatic pistol and a Taurus .22-caliber pistol. The combined value of the stolen weapons is estimated at approximately $2,000.

In addition to the firearms, the victims reported that $250 in cash was taken from a jacket pocket, along with several personal items including a birth certificate and a Social Security card. State troopers are currently processing the scene for evidence and checking for any local surveillance footage that may have captured suspicious activity in the area over the past three weeks. Authorities have expressed concern regarding the stolen firearms entering the community and are urging anyone with information about the burglary or the whereabouts of the weapons to contact the State Police at Dunmore.
