State Police are investigating a massive theft in Luzerne County after unknown thieves made off with over $140,000 worth of copper wire from a local utility site.
Troopers were called to 80 Commerce Drive in Hazle Township on July 17 following reports of the break-in. Investigators determined that one or more individuals unlawfully gained access to a PPL storage yard before taking the large quantity of wire.
State Police in Hazleton are leading the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident or potential suspects is asked to contact PSP Hazleton.
