A student at the Wilkes-Barre Career and Technical Center (CTC) was found with a gun in their backpack, prompting a lockdown. School officials say the school went into lockdown after 9 a.m. after a student was found to be in possession of a gun. The Plains Township Police Department responded and took the juvenile into custody, who was charged with several firearm and public safety violations. Afternoon classes were canceled at Wilkes Barre CTC to allow authorities to check and secure the school. Classes are set to resume this morning
