SCRANTON, PA — A 21-year-old man was seriously wounded during an early morning shooting in Scranton's Hill Section on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of an unidentified teenager.
According to Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher, the incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on the 1800 block of Roselyn Street, near Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Police say the victim, identified as Ezekial Soto, was involved in a physical dispute with the teenager when shots were fired. Soto suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital to undergo emergency surgery. His current medical condition has not been publicly released.
Scranton police took the suspect into custody shortly after the encounter. The teenager faces charges of aggravated assault along with several related offenses. Authorities have not released the juvenile's name due to age restrictions.
Scranton Police stated that the investigation remains active and additional charges against the alleged shooter are pending as detectives continue gathering evidence.
