Three people were hospitalized and a home has been condemned following a residential structure fire Tuesday evening on Scranton’s West Side. Emergency crews were dispatched to a home in the 1700 block of Price Street shortly before 10:00 p.m. after reports of heavy smoke and active flames.
The resident displaced by the blaze suffered minor burns and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Two individuals living in an adjacent neighboring unit were also rushed to the hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation. While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, fire officials believe the blaze originated in the kitchen area of the residence. Investigators remain on the scene to determine the precise cause of the accident.
