WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Musical acts Lady A, En Vogue, and Eddie Day and TNT are set to perform at Kirby Park this Saturday, June 20, as part of the statewide Commonwealth Concert Series celebration.
The Wilkes-Barre and Luzerne County region was chosen as one of just five sites across Pennsylvania to host a special concert in honor of the 250th birthday of the United States. The series of events across the state will lead up to the official national milestone celebration on July 4 in Philadelphia.
Cassandra Coleman, the organizer for the Commonwealth Concert Series, announced that the upcoming Saturday performance is rapidly approaching a total sell-out. Currently, only a few hundred free tickets remain available for the public.
Organizers emphasize that while the event is free, tickets are strictly required to gain admission into Kirby Park. No tickets will be distributed or available at the gate on the day of the event.
Community members interested in attending can secure the remaining free admission passes online by visiting America250PA.org.
