State Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Luzerne County today.

Vance is scheduled to speak at 1 p.m. at Don’s Machine Shop on Ash Street in West Pittston. His visit is expected to cause intermittent road closures and traffic delays, particularly near the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, on U.S. Route 11, and throughout the Greater Pittston area during the arrival and departure of the vice president’s motorcade.

Drivers are advised to plan accordingly and use alternate routes when possible.

In response to the visit, Action Together NEPA and other advocacy groups have organized a counter rally. That demonstration will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Pittston Park, just a short distance from the event site.
