SCRANTON, Pa. — A man and a woman are in custody following a physical confrontation and knife attack that drew a heavy police presence to a city neighborhood on Tuesday.
Scranton Police officers responded to a residence along Edna Avenue around noon after receiving reports of a disturbance involving multiple people. Initial emergency dispatch reports indicated that one man involved in the dispute was armed with a firearm.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a woman suffering from a stab wound to her arm. The victim told investigators that a male suspect had stabbed her and subsequently attempted to run her over with his vehicle. A second victim at the scene informed police that she had been physically assaulted by a woman who arrived with the male suspect.
Authorities took two individuals into custody in connection with the incident. Malichi Bush, 18, is facing criminal charges including aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and harassment. Ishalamayra Fred faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
Both suspects were transported to the Lackawanna County Prison and are scheduled to return to court for their preliminary hearings later this month.
